Rawhide        by D. Tiomkine/N. Washington    © all rights reserved

A great song that was the theme to the TV show of the same name, back in the 1960's.  No other song quite depicts the cattle trail drives like this one.
Check out the Chisolm Trail Museum in Wellington to learn more of Texas to Kansas cattle drives.

Rollin, rollin, rollin  rollin rollin rollin  Rawhide.
Rollin rollin rollin though the streams are swollen
Keep them doggies rollin Rawhide,
Through rain and wind n weather, hell bent for leather
Wishin my gal was by my side.
All the things I'm missin, good vittles, love and kissin
Are waitin at the end of my ride.

Head em up move em on, move em on head em up head em up move em on Rawhide
Ride em in cut em out cut em out ride em in ride em in cut em out Rawhide.

Movin, movin, movin, though they're disapprovin,
keep them doggies movin Rawhide
Don't try to understand em, just rope and throw and brand em
Soon, we'll be livin high and wide
My hearts calculatin, my true love is a waitin, waitin at the end of my ride

Head em up, move em on, move em on head em up head em move em on Rawhide
Ride em in cut em out cut em out ride em in ride em in cut em out  Rawhide

Rawhide hide  Rawhide.
